== Description ==
A Wordpress plugin that protect a part of your blog posts (maybe links, images or texts), that only registered and logged in members can see it. Simply put your content to be hidden with [ hidepost] and [ /hidepost].
If you want to protect your post to some user with low level, you can use [ hidepost=level][/hidepost]. User level can be found on Codex page.
If you use the default tag ([ hidepost][/hidepost]), the default User level is 0, mean the registered member.
And if you find this plugin useful, Why not give the author some support by click on Advertisement section

1. Upload the folder hidepost to wp-content/plugin directory
2. Activate it
3. Go to Option -> Hidepost and check "Enable HidePost"
4. Use [ hidepost] tag to protect the content

Great plugin, works pẻrfectly.
well, easy to use this plug, but protected contents must be protected from search result too. Search results shows all the protected contents.

I just noticed a flaw when you do right click and view source the protected content can be seen. The protected post function in wp removed the content from the view source, so it looks like you may want to tweak it for the post to not be revealed.
I test this plugin in my blog and a default install wp, and it work right

If you're going to tweak it so that the hidden part can be seen only when you commnet, please make sure that the comment is made by a registered user. If a guest comments, the hidden part must stay hidden
i have problem - after íntalation WP shows 2 errors:

if i set wordpress blog on home page the address of login and register is http://nguyenthanhcong.com/wp-login.php but if i install wordpress in /wordpress/ folder in root address must be change to http://nguyenthanhcong.com/wordpress/wp-login.php

I am running v 2.2 ò wordpress. Àter íntalling the plugin and putting the code on a page, I log out and I can still sê the comment. Also thể í an eror mesage that says
WordPress database error: [Unknown column 'restricted' in 'field list']
select restricted from wp_posts where ID=35

You may try Deactive and Reactive the Plugin, and check the Option page. If it happen again, please give me a list of all plugins that 've been installed in your site. I'll check this

Íntalled HidePost 2.2 on Wordpress 2.2.2. Can't get it to work... tried all suggestions and in readme. Help please! Options show [protect] [/protect].

Doing that fixed that problem. New problem [protect]... [/protect] adds a blog ỦRL in front of external link URL. I want to have protect content show text to say Login ỏr register to view. When I put the html in for thís with link to http://www.xyz.com/channels./signup.php your script automatically adds http://myblog.com in front of that.

That is a great plugin ! I was willing to make it more obvious that some content was password protected by applying a custom design to those protected links. But apparently, one can not add a particular style to those links without hardcoding its choice inside the
hidepost.phpfile. Modifying the sting in the admin panel did not work, even when quotes were escaped.Do you think it's something you could easily add to your next released version of the plugin ? You did such a good work until know...
By the way, the "Protect Link" checkmark does not display its current state after you've saved your options. So you don't know if your links are protected or not, unless you check your posts (after unlogging). Minor bug, since it still works, but annoying nonetheless.
Hope the next version will come soon/.

I've been using this for awhile and love it very much.
But can I have an option in which hidden part be shown to a defined role - let's say I want only Editor see the hidden part.
Can the hidepost plugin allow search engine spiders to read all content but keep the protected part hidden from visitors eyes when they click through?
In other words, I would like search results to work for all my content including the protected part. But only logged in users can view it when they click through.
This is a very crucial feature. I hope this is possible.
If you want to include your post to google, I suggest Tags or a plugin called "All in one SEO tag", Tags are better for search engine
That is because I use a google searchbox on my website to locate articles by typing certain phrases from it. If google cannot locate the articles by those phrases because google does not know it, then my google search is redundant.
Also, I want search engine spiders to be able to read all my content. Google only displays a few sentences on its search results so it doesn't matter.

You can use "All in one SEO tag" and add meta tag to your post, so google can know what in your post .

Happy New Year! First, great plugin! I love it, it's exactly what I needed for my site.
But I have one problem with the new version changes since 2.2. How can we change the styles now? Before I just went in and changed the tag to whatever I needed. But now it seems you removed that part in the code. (I actually don't understand it anymore, but I'm just beginning in PHP.) Am I just missing how to do it?
I'm excited to see new features, but all I really needed was the original. Also, now that the tags are removed, the source code comes out with the message on a blank new line, not XHTML compliant. With the old version, I just changed the closing to and that made it XHTML compliant.
Would you consider adding a style feature on the plugin options page and making the output XHTML compliant?
In the meantime, I'm going to continue using version 2.2 as it does the job for me. And if anyone can help me on how to change the style in the newer version, it'd be greatly appreciated!

I just checked google cache of my pages and found out that it does not display the hidden part of my content. Is the "allow bot" feature working properly? Is that part of my content indexed by google bots?

The allow bot feature doesn't seem to be working. I can no longer search for the hidden portion of my content in google search. Why is this so?
I think there is a problem with the allow bot feature. Could you check again to see if it's working properly?

Another issue persists!!! Will this hidden part be shown if email subscribing is sent to the subscriber? I notice the hidden parts are being shown to my email as it seems to have no effect outside wordpress.

This plugin is exactly what I need, and I only have one small problem.
It's working fine -- perfectly -- on my site itself, which is great! But on the RSS feed, something is preventing the "login or register" notice from showing up. I'd like this to appear in the feed, as well as on the page, so that my readers who read my site by RSS can know that there's protected content available without my having to state it.
Is there a way of getting the register/login links (or even some configurable text) to show up in the RSS feed, as well as on the site itself? Or have I misconfigured something?

Oh, and I have another problem for you!
When I view the raw feed in Internet Explorer (run under Wine as I'm on Linux) I see the link to login/register...
But when I view the feed in Firefox, I see the ENCRYPTED CONTENT instead!!! Kinda scary!

About the RSS problem, I think the content still be hidden, and the browser or your RSS reader can display the link or not.
